ABOUT US
The Laboratory of Beekeeping Issues was established by Decision No. 3/03 from the Scientific Council of Nakhchivan State University during its meeting on November 28, 2019, and the rector of NDU under document number 0000000.
OUR PURPOSE
Our laboratory, equipped with modern facilities, operates under the Department of Veterinary Medicine. Currently, the laboratory conducts scientific and practical research, diagnosis of bee diseases, and quality assessments of beekeeping products in accordance with the training and educational plan for undergraduate and graduate students, supported by a team of professional young researchers and educators. The following analyses are carried out:
- Determination of honey moisture content
- Evaluation of organoleptic properties of honey
- Pollen analyses
- Melissomatics analysis of honey and pollen
- Identification of bee races
- Diagnosis of Nosema disease
- Diagnosis of Varroatosis
- Diagnosis of Brauliasis
- Diagnosis of Acarapidosis
- Identification of wild bees.
OUR GOALS
In the near future, we will propose improvements to the legislation concerning the safety of beekeeping products, as well as methodological recommendations. We will prepare scientific and practical proposals for the production and processing of beekeeping products using new technologies. Additionally, measures will be taken to conduct research projects intended for master's and doctoral students.
OUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct scientific research.
- Organize international and national conferences, symposiums, seminars, webinars, round tables, and training sessions.
- Prepare and publish international and national-level publications.
- Develop books, brochures, and booklets to inform beekeepers about modern technologies.
- Collaborate with scientific research centers, institutes, universities, and representatives of the private sector both domestically and abroad.
- Ensure that requests and inquiries related to our activities are handled in accordance with legislation.
- Prepare reports regarding the laboratory's work plan and activities.
- Ensure the protection of confidential information during the laboratory's operations in compliance with legislation.
- Fulfill other responsibilities outlined in the legislation that are relevant to our activities.
