The Trade Union Committee of Nakhchivan State University unites around 700 employees, including professors and teaching staff, as well as teaching assistants, technical and economic workers. The committee has its first organization in each faculty.
The University Trade Union Committee is managed by the Executive Committee. 4 permanent commissions operate under the Trade Union Committee:
Social issues;
Cultural-mass works;
Organization of education, science and leisure time;
Financial, audit and economic work commissions.
The Trade Union Committee of Nakhchivan State University implements policies related to diversity, equality, inclusion and human rights among the staff and students at the University. Trainings are conducted in this field and advice is provided. Regular meetings are held with administrative staff or management bodies regarding the development of this area.
The Committee conducts its work on the basis of the existing legislation and the relevant statute.

Nijat Asker oglu Yagubov was born on May 27, 1982 in the village of Benaniyar, Julfa district. In 1988-1999, he studied at Benaniyar village secondary school. In 2002-2006, he graduated from Nakhchivan State University, Faculty of History and Philology, majoring in Azerbaijani language and literature with honors. In 2007-2009, he received a master's degree in "Azerbaijani language" at Nakhchivan State University and graduated with honors. Since 2014, he has been a doctoral student at Nakhchivan State University and conducted research on "Lexical-semantic features of archisms in the Azerbaijani language". In 2021, he defended and received the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philology.
In 2006-2007, he worked as a teacher in Julfa District Ebragunus village secondary school. In 2007-2010, he worked as a deputy director in the scientific library of Nakhchivan State University. In 2009-2011, he worked as a chief instructor in the Nakhchivan city organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. In 2013-2014, he worked as a teacher at the Environmental Education Center of the Babak District Education Department. From 2014, he worked as a 0.5 full-time lecturer of the Azerbaijani language and literature department of "Nakhchivan" University, and as a coordinator at the International Relations Department of "Nakhchivan" University from 2015-2016. In 2016-2019, he worked as a full-time senior lecturer at the "Azerbaijani language and literature" chair of "Nakhchivan" University. In 2016-2017, he worked as a teacher of Azerbaijani language and literature in the preparatory courses of "Istedad XXI century" LLC. In 2017-2019, he worked as a director in the preparatory courses of "Istedad XXI century" LLC in the Sharur branch. In 2019-2020, he worked as the Publishing Director at the Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute. In 2019-2023, he worked as a 0.5 full-time teacher at the "Azerbaijani language and literature" department of the Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute, and as a full-time senior teacher at the "Azerbaijani language and literature" chair of the Nakhchivan State University from 2020. Currently, he works as an associate professor of the "Azerbaijani language and literature" chair of Nakhchivan State University, and as the chairman of the Trade Union Committee of Nakhchivan State University.
In 2014-2019, he worked as the editor of "Scientific Works" magazine of "Nakhchivan" University and in 2019-2020 as the responsible secretary of "Scientific Works" magazine of Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute.
